About the Challenge

Our joint vision is to make the Netherlands the world’s best digital health ecosystem. In an innovative environment patients, health providers, entrepreneurs, and other stakeholders successfully work together. With the Dutch Digital Health Challenge we want to showcase the best collaborations between entrepreneurs and their partners who aim to improve health in our country.

In May 2018, the four chosen startups will fly to Spain to take the stage at the HIMSS Europe & Health 2.0 conference and do a live demo for over 2,000 healthcare stakeholders. This conference brings together the European health ecosystem: from the regulators to innovators, health providers, and patients. The motto of the conference is “less talk—more action.”

Startups can apply in the following partnership categories: health provider, corporate, insurer, and health corporate. The challenge is powered by the Ministry of Health, HIMSS, Health 2.0, and Rockstart to showcase the best Dutch digital health startups and support them in making new deals. Apply today and get ready to take the main stage!

Have questions?

What are the startup requirements?

We are looking for startups incorporated in the Netherlands. They need to collaborate with partners that fit one of the four categories: health provider, corporate, insurer, and health corporate. The collaboration itself could be a pilot, study, launching customership or seller-buyer relationship. We are looking for visible traction, undeniable passion, entrepreneurial spirit, and eagerness to represent the Netherlands in Barcelona.

What is the difference between a corporate and a health corporate?

In the category ‘corporate’ we are looking for digital health startup and corporate collaborations in any area of digital health. The collaborations with ‘health corporates’ focus on the collaborations between digital health startups and pharmaceutical companies or medical device companies.

What do you get as a winner?

Successful startups win the opportunity to give a live demo in front of 600+ digital health stakeholders and connect to more than 2,000 potential clients and partners. The Dutch Digital Health Prizes consist out of two return flight tickets to Barcelona, an accommodation for two nights for two people, and two tickets to the HIMSS Europe & Health 2.0 ‘18 conference per startup.

What happens before the conference?

The applications close on April 22. which is when the selection process commences. After the winners are announced on May 4, they will spend two weeks to improve and perfect their demo during the preparation phase. During this period, the founders will receive guidance from some of the most experienced mentors in the industry, together with demo training to prepare for the conference.
